Head Of School Welcome...

Welcome to Netley Abbey Infant School. Our school is a friendly, three-form entry school for children in Years R, 1 and 2, set in the beautiful Itchen Valley in Hampshire, close to Southampton Water, the Hamble River and Royal Victoria Country Park.

Our caring and dedicated staff provide a safe, nurturing environment where every child is supported to thrive. Guided by our school values of being Ready, Respectful, Safe and Kind, we encourage positive behaviour, confidence and a love of learning from the very start of each child’s school journey. As part of a Federation with Netley Abbey Junior School, we share the same values and ethos, giving our pupils a smooth and inspiring seven-year journey from Reception through to Year 6.

The infant years are a vital time for learning and development. Everything we do in the Early Years and infant stages is carefully designed to develop the essential foundation skills children need for future academic success. Through purposeful play, high-quality teaching and rich learning experiences, we nurture curiosity, resilience, independence and communication skills. These early foundations support children to become confident learners who are motivated, adaptable and well prepared for the next stages of their education, helping to develop a lifelong love of learning. At Netley Abbey Infant School, children come first in everything we do. We offer engaging, memorable learning experiences and take a whole-child approach, supporting personal, social and emotional development alongside academic success.

We work closely with parents, carers, local nurseries and preschools and our partner schools to ensure happy, confident transitions for every child.

We warmly welcome new families to our school community. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit – we would love to show you around.
